On 19 October, I interviewed Viewpoint’s Steve Spark about the SaaS vendor’s 2016 results and about prospects for 2017. At Digital Construction Week in London last month, I conducted a short video interview with Steve Spark, commercial director of Viewpoint’s EMEA business. In it, I asked about the company’s recent financial performance – which saw EMEA …

Aconex growing revenues again
Aconex reports growing revenues and reduced losses for year to June 2012. The annual report and accounts (for the year ending 30 June 2012) from Melbourne, Australia-based Software-as-a-Service construction collaboration technology vendor Aconex have been published – albeit with what I have begun to regard as the quadruple-A: the “Annual Aconex Accounts Adjustment.” The headline figures show …

Who sits at the Sword CTSpace table?
The latest Sword-CTSpace news release concerns an integration between the company’s on-premise FusionEnterprise platform and ECM systems EMC Documentum and Microsoft SharePoint 10 (somewhat confusingly, Sword-CTSpace talks about Engineering Content Management, as opposed to Enterprise Content Management, a term much used by other firms and industry analysts). I only mention this as the news release …

Indeed, I learned last week that there are now around 1.5 million HP DesignJet large format printers in use, and that …

Newforma targets the UK
On the same day last week that I swapped emails with Knowledge Architecture’s Chris Parsons (see post), I read in AECcafe.com that New Hampshire, USA-based AEC software vendor Newforma was forming a user community in the UK (see Newforma Users Form Community in United Kingdom). Newforma hired former Excitech executive Tim Bates as a new …

Autodesk hit by recession
In Is the Recession hurting AEC IT? last month, I said I would keep an eye on the financial results of some of the key players in the AEC market. Last week, Autodesk announced its results for the last quarter of 2008: revenues down 18% from the previous year (spread across every operating region; EMEA …

Newsletter gives CTSpace update
I have just been forwarded a copy of the latest e-newsletter from construction collaboration vendor CTSpace (a business with an interesting past – see related posts below). The email features an editorial from Gert-Jan de Kieviet, the company’s managing director of its EMEA operation. In it he writes glowingly about the aftermath of last year’s …
