Having recently received a comment from Chris Brandt, CTO at conject, I thought it was high time that I took a more detailed look at this construction and real estate collaboration vendor. Based in Munich, Germany, but with operations across most of Europe, conject has gradually been expanding its international reach beyond Europe. It has …

Recession hits Aconex order book, it sheds staff, but still grows
Australia-based Software-as-a-Service construction collaboration technology vendor Aconex has just signed off its accounts for the year ending 30 June 2009, and they show another year of growth, albeit slower than in previous years (see Aconex reports…, 2008, and Aconex results hit by legal row, 2007). This is no surprise, of course. The global recession has …

Sword CTSpace in recovery mode?
After looking at BuildOnline (UK) Ltd’s 2007 performance recently (see BuildOnline’s UK downward drift), I have been researching the recent performance of the whole Sword CTSpace group (in effect, the combined BuildOnline/Citadon operation acquired by Sword group in December 2007). The UK operation of Australia-based online construction collaboration technology vendor Aconex tended to lag behind its home-grown competitors, but in the past couple of years it appears the London office has made a great leap forward. The latest published results (up to 30 June 2008) show it dramatically increased its turnover and reported a healthy …

‘Extranet’ vendors getting social?
(This is a slightly amended version of a post from my pwcom2.0 blog that discusses how UK construction collaboration vendors are embracing social media as part of their communications mix.) I have spent much of the past ten years working in the ‘extranet’ or ‘construction collaboration technologies’ market, but as well as this blog, I …

Collaboration vendors unveil (old) plans for deeper interoperability
Last month, members of the UK-based Network for Construction Collaboration Technology Providers (NCCTP) announced plans to provide greater integration between their different applications (see news release). At the time, I was too busy to write about it, but the topic cropped up briefly in conversation with the Incite guys (post) recently, so I’ve had another …
