CTSpace people news

The Sword Group rather dropped off my radar recently, so I’ve been catching up with some developments relating to executives involved with their CTSpace subsidiary (formerly BuildOnline in the UK), a vendor of construction collaboration technologies. The most note-worthy change has been the appointment last month of former Citadon and CTSpace CEO Howard Koenig to …

Newsletter gives CTSpace update

I have just been forwarded a copy of the latest e-newsletter from construction collaboration vendor CTSpace (a business with an interesting past – see related posts below). The email features an editorial from Gert-Jan de Kieviet, the company’s managing director of its EMEA operation. In it he writes glowingly about the aftermath of last year’s …

CTSpace website taking shape

As mentioned last week, the new CTSpace website is taking shape, adopting the ‘look and feel’ of the parent Sword Group website, and with a new CTSpace logo incorporating the words “A Sword Group Company”. It’s a good-looking site – I like the animated photographs on the home page. CTSpace claims 135,000 users (though this …

The Sword Group – parent of CTSpace, the construction collaboration technology provider that used to be known as BuildOnline and Citadon (see various posts) – has announced (see release) its acquisition (no transaction value given) of US-based ViaNovus and its Paragon suite of construction management products. Another version of the release adds ViaNovus will be operated as a unit of …

Sword Group acquisition

The Sword Group (December 2007 buyer of troubled Anglo/US construction collaboration vendor CTSpace – see post) has been on the UK company acquisition trail again, buying Glasgow-based on-premises contact centre software developer Graham Technology. Update (2 April 2008): The value of the deal wasn’t originally announced, but Scottish newspaper reports (eg: The Herald) suggest a …

Sword Group 2007 results

Sword Group, the France-based IT group that late last year acquired UK construction collaboration SaaS technology vendor CTSpace for just £6.5m, announced its annual results for the year ending 31 December 2007 yesterday. The group turned over €179m [£138m], up 26% from €142m [£109m] in 2006, generating a net profit of almost €19m [£15m], up from £16m. …

CTSpace sold for just £6.5m

Further to Tuesday’s post about the former BuildOnline construction collaboration technology business, I have been piecing together more of the corporate changes leading up to Sword Group‘s acquisition of CTSpace. In the process, I have found a reference to the amount paid by Sword to acquire CTSpace in December 2007 – which, in view of the …

BuildOnline revisited

In the absence of any updates regarding Sword Group and its recently-acquired construction collaboration technology business still branded as CTSpace (formerly known as BuildOnline and Citadon, formerly known as Cephren (formerly known as BlueLineOnline and E-bricks) and Bidcom, which also incorporated Cubus – and that’s just the short version!) or even a new website (see post), …

No new CTSpace … yet

After Sword Group’s acquisition of collaboration vendor CTSpace (see CTSpace put to the Sword), the home page of the CTSpace website carried news of the change of ownership and promised “Our new website will be available in January”. It’s now February…. Update (5 February 2007): The French version of CTSpace’s website says the new site …

SaaS and construction collaboration in 2008

After Reviewing 2007, I started thinking about some predictions or trends for 2008. My first instinct was simply to repeat last year’s five, but that would be too easy. Instead, I have decided to update two, and add three new ones. Here are the first two (the others will follow over the next couple of days). …
