Projectcentre.net

Earlier this year, I started looking in a little more detail at the Australian construction collaboration technology market. Aconex, being active in the UK, obviously feature regularly in my thoughts (I believe their shareholder dispute may finally yield a judgement in the next month or so); I have written about Incite (here and here); and I linked to …

Incite – update

Two months ago (INCITE = ThinkProject!), I wrote about Australia-based construction collaboration provider Nexus Point and the Incite product. I have just received a helpful email from Sean Kaye, Nexus Point’s managing director, updating me on a few details. First of all, Nexus Point Solutions never had an agreement of any sort with Baulogis; the minority …

Aconex twist = non-event

Further to my recent post about reopened legal proceedings involving Australian-based collaboration technology vendor Aconex and its two joint MDs, it seems that last week’s hearing was a bit of a non-event. After the hearing on 19 March, the Notice of Motion filed by Aconex shareholder Hawthorn Glen on 27 February 2008 was dismissed, but any decision on costs relating to …

INCITE = ThinkProject!

Just last week, I was discussing the state of the Australian AEC collaboration market. Following that conversation, I decided to have a look at what other domestic players in that market had to offer. Putting Aconex into context, I have already mentioned QA Software in the past (see 4 July 2006 post), so I examined what used to be …

Aconex results hit by legal row

Some three months ago, I had a look at the 2006 financial results for Australia-based construction collaboration vendor Aconex, noting that its 2007 results would be available in November (as per Aconex marketing chief Frank Carron’s comment). After a slight delay (auditors requested an extension of time as some areas required additional testing), the latest …

New kids on the blog

I see that Aconex joint MDs Rob Phillpot and Leigh Jasper have just started a blog, Built on Collaboration, in which they will “discuss some good industry practices and, along the way, share some … stories about running a business”. I look forward to reading future posts. Welcome to the blogosphere, lads! Tweet

Australian collaboration technology research

An article, Zavanti to analyse use of collaboration technology by the Australia Construction Industry, on Australia’s infolink website says that Zavanti (formerly Powyr) has launched a market research project designed to investigate the use of construction collaboration technologies and project extranets by the Australian construction industry. It says the study, conducted by John Lowry from …

Aconex in Australia shares court row

The tranquil world of online construction collaboration is not normally rocked by claims of political or financial feuds, but Aconex has unfortunately got caught up in an Australian court wrangle which features two well-known state politicians. Background Aconex was founded by Leigh Jasper (son of National Party MP Ken Jasper) and Rob Phillpot, with initial financial backing …

Australian-based construction collaboration technology vendor Aconex has undertaken some research into the information needs of facilities managers. The survey, conducted in partnership with the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA), got responses from 555 individuals. You can read the full story here, but the headline findings are unsurprising for anyone working in the field of collaboration …
