(This is a slightly amended version of a post from my pwcom2.0 blog.) This morning I discovered a SCRI Research Report, Future Generation of IT (PDF), published in June and reporting on discussions held at a ‘vision planning workshop’ hosted at Salford University back in January (2009). The aim of the event was to “identify …

Meridian user forum
Thanks to a news release published on AECcafe.com, I have learned that Meridian Systems, US-based provider of project management solutions including Prolog and Proliance, has created an online forum for users of its products. The platform – the screenshot suggests it is essentially a discussion board – is intended to help Meridian customers collaborate and …

Asite community revisited
Back in June, I wrote about construction collaboration vendor Asite‘s revamped website and its new social media features. Three months later, I had a quick look to see how the Asite community has been developing…. Blog posts have been a bit slow in coming. Three in June, one in July, none in August and one …

Sword CTSpace in recovery mode?
After looking at BuildOnline (UK) Ltd’s 2007 performance recently (see BuildOnline’s UK downward drift), I have been researching the recent performance of the whole Sword CTSpace group (in effect, the combined BuildOnline/Citadon operation acquired by Sword group in December 2007). Poring through the 2008 Annual and Financial Report (pdf) of the Sword Group, I found …

BuildOnline’s UK downward drift
Partly out of historical interest, I continue to monitor the company reporting of BuildOnline, a construction collaboration technology vendor which is now part of the French-owned Sword Group, today trading as Sword CTSpace and offering a portfolio of products from former offerings BuildOnline, Citadon and, more recently, Cimage. BuildOnline (UK) Ltd’s Annual Report and Accounts …

Construction Computing Awards 2009
Nominations for the Construction Computing Awards 2009 are now open (close 3 September). Sponsors include Causeway and MPS. Pretty much the same format as previous years, with online voting for two months from September to November with a ceremony on 19 November, this year at the Tower Hotel, London. A couple of thoughts: First, looking …

From PLM and social media, to AEC design
I have been monitoring conversations about social media among some manufacturing and product lifecycle management (PLM) commentators, and a post by Desktop Engineering‘s Kenneth Wong – What PLM Can Learn from Social Media – has lingered in a browser tab for most of the past two days as I’ve re-read it and pondered it. Kenneth …

AECcollaborators Twitter League
Following my post about how some providers of construction collaboration technologies are beginning to incorporate social media tools and techniques into their communications, I have set up a Twitter League to monitor how many companies and people in those businesses use Twitter, how active they are, how many followers they have, etc (I’ve added a …

Koenig leaves Sword CTSpace
Howard Koenig has now officially left Sword CTSpace to return to the workforce management software sphere, joining Aruspex, specialists in strategic workforce planning, as CEO (CEN story; word of his departure did, however, creep out prematurely in February). He was head of North American operations for Sword. In the early 2000s, Howard was CEO of …
